Data Deletion

⚠️ Before You Delete Your Account

• Download any estimates, invoices, or reports you want to keep
• Ensure all pending payments have been processed
• Notify your team members if you're a GC with connected subs
• Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone

Account Types & Impact

Premium Accounts

If you're a user with a Trade Agent Premium account:

• Your portfolio data and project history will be permanently deleted
• Connected subcontractors will lose access to shared projects
• Bid invitations in progress will be cancelled
• Your team members will lose access to the workspace

Pro Accounts

If you're a user with a Trade Agent Pro account:

• Your estimates and job history will be permanently deleted
• Active bids with GCs will be withdrawn
• Your Arti AI conversation history will be removed
• Schedule and client data will be erased

Free Accounts

If you're a user with a free account:

• Limited stored data will be immediately deleted
• Email address will be removed from our system

How to Delete Your Account

Method 1: Self-Service Deletion (Recommended)

1. Log in to your Trade Agent account
2. Click your profile icon in the top right corner
3. Navigate to "Settings" → "Account & Privacy"
4. Scroll to "Delete Account" section
5. Click "Request Account Deletion"
6. Select your reason for leaving (optional)
7. Type "DELETE" to confirm
8. Click "Permanently Delete My Account"

Note: You'll receive an email confirmation and have 24 hours to cancel the deletion request.

Method 2: Email Request

Send an email to privacy@thetradeagent.com with:

• Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
• Your registered email address
• Account type (GC, Pro, or Free)
• Company name (if applicable)

We'll process your request within 48 business hours and send confirmation.

Data Deletion Timeline

What happens after you request deletion:

🔒 Immediately: Account is deactivated and inaccessible

⏱️ 24 hours: Grace period to cancel deletion (email link provided)

🗑️ 30 days: Personal data permanently deleted from production systems

📊 90 days: Anonymized data removed from analytics and backups

Legal Compliance

Trade Agent complies with GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection regulations. Some data may be retained for legal, tax, or legitimate business purposes as required by law. This includes:

• Transaction records for tax purposes (7 years)
• Legal dispute documentation (as required)
• Anonymized usage data for product improvement

Alternative Options

Pause Your Subscription

Not ready to delete? You can pause your subscription and keep your data:

• Downgrade to Free tier (Tier 0)
• Temporarily pause billing
• Export your data for safekeeping
